Several government websites disappeared yesterday on Donald Trump’s first day as president, including the web page for The Office of Gun Violence Prevention. I dont know anything about the program apart that it was an executive order that got the bill passed through congress to set it up – apparently its trying to bring gun shops and buys to heel and prevent the purchase of guns by folks that shouldnt have them but its gone now and there does not seem to be any other solution being offered or conversation about what to do next. This was the only effort I’ve seen in the last 10 years which, albeit kind of a veiled attempt at gun control, that was reviewing the policies and practice of buyers and sellers.
